Florencio Umali Andal

Florencio Umali Andal, 64 passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Nemesia Andal; daughter Nicole Florence Andal, brother Catalino Andal and his brother-in-law, Benjamin Madera. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Andal, sons, Anthony Andal and Florencio Andal Jr., and daughter, Alexis Andal; his siblings Lorna Madera, Marcos Andal, Sofronio Andal (Dulce), Evaristo Andal, Lerma Kimel (Walter), and Flora Mattingly (Daniel), as well as a host of nephews, nieces and many cousin who also love him dearly.

Florencio was born in Lagalag Tiaong Quezon, Philippines on October 27, 1959. He attended University of the East in Manila and graduated with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He became a professor in the same University and taught there for a few years before immigrating to America in 1985. One of his greatest joy is to cook gumbo for the holidays and especially for his relatives and friends that comes to visit New Orleans. He also loves to DIY and very proud of all the renovations that he did to his home. He will be missed by everyone who loves and know him. We know he is at peace reunited with our loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 9:00 am at Mothe Funeral Home in Marrero, 7040 LaPalco Blvd. The service will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor at 1:30 PM. Interment to follow at Gate Of Heaven Mausoleum. Arrangements by Mothe Funeral Home.
