Floramae Weixel Geers, born October 5, 1930 in New Orleans, LA to Edwin W. Weixel and Leona L. Oelking, passed away peacefully after an extended illness, surrounded by her loving children on June 28, 2026. Floramae, while performing a wonderful job raising four children, was a professional singer, accomplished seamstress, expert quilter, scout leader, instructor at Belle Chasse State School for challenged children, an avid gardener and a talented artist. She was very spiritual and set a fine example of a Christian mother for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Floramae led an admirable life and was very independent and self-sufficient for the entirety of her 95 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin W. Weixel and Leona L. Oelking, and her loving husband of fifty-five years, Donald Lee Geers. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Cucullu (the late Capt. Wayne Cucullu), Mary Ann Randon (Don), Leone Geers, Keith Geers (Cindy) as well as her grandchildren, Erin Cucullu, Brian Cucullu (Allison), Lindsay Randon Bullington (John), Brandon Ferrari, Candace Geers Sterling (Jeffrey) and her great grandchildren, Laine Bullington and Harrison Cucullu. She was loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A private Graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, your prayers in her memory will be appreciated.
