Dr Fernando E Astilla

Dr. Fernando E Astilla, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his parents, Agripino and Isidra Astilla, and brother Ernesto Astilla. Beloved husband of Lourdes Astilla for 51 years. Loving father of Lissa Astilla (O.C. Skip) Tucker, Lena Astilla (Rolando) Saavedra, and Kristy Astilla (Jay) Christoff. He is the grandfather of 9 wonderful children, Jeb and Danny Tucker, Fernando Melek, Kylie, Seve, and Sofia Saavedra, Cameron, Anna, and Eliza Christoff. He is survived by his siblings, Fenita (Eduardo) Camacho, Carmelo (Nelia) Astilla, Sonia (Guerrero) Tablan, Manuel (Beth) Astilla and Maria (Ned) Valen. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dr. Astilla was a retired OB-GYN, who practiced for over 25 years on the Westbank. He was a devoted family man and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will begin on Saturday, March 11, 2017 beginning at 11:30 A.M. followed by a 1:30 P.M. funeral service at the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey, LA. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetary, Gretna, LA.
