Faye Umbach Foss

Faye Umbach Foss passed away on December 1, 2016 at the age of 93 years. Beloved companion of Irving Forestier. She is survived by her stepchildren, Ray Forestier (Rubye), Kathy Forestier, Karen Orazio (John), Kim Becker (Mark) and their extended family; her niece, Elizabeth Miller Robinson (James); nephews, Warren Umbach III (Heidi), Chad Umbach (Lisa), Frederick Umbach (Tabitha) and Ashton Miller Robinson along with 9 great-nieces and nephews and her closest and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren M. Umbach Sr. and Vivian Miller Umbach; sister, Marion U. Miller and brothers, Frederick M. Umbach and Warren M. Umbach.
Faye was born and raised in Algiers and Gretna, LA and spent the last 30 years in Metairie, LA. She graduated from Behrman High School and later worked for 41 years with Aetna Insurance Groups, retiring in 1993. Her organizational skills and love for people served her well as Human Resources Coordinator. She was proud to be a member of the Insurance Women of New Orleans, an organization in which she later served as President. Over the years, she earned and was awarded many insurance-related accolades. During her career, she enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship of fellow colleagues, friendships that would last a lifetime. Along with her beloved Irving, she was active in the Elks Lodge No. 30 in Metairie where she shared her good-nature, lively sense of humor and infectious smile with her many friends. She will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest with her family in the McDonogh Cemetery in Gretna.
