Fabien "Sonny" Joseph Becnel, Jr.

Fabien “Sonny” Joseph Becnel, Jr. entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Rita Joyce Henry Becnel. Father of Steven Becnel (Ines), David Becnel (Mary), and Lisa Golding (Arey). Grandfather of Lynette Dauzat (Jason), Cindy Louden (Will), Patricia Rau (Gerard), Ann Becnel, Bradford Golding, Matthew Golding, and Rebecca Havelka (Asher). Great-grandfather of Isabella, Tyler, Owen, Penny, Grayson, and Liam. Son of the late Fabien Becnel, Sr. and Martha Laurent Becnel. Brother of Warren Becnel, Martha Becnel, Wayne Becnel (Beverly), Lorraine Bryant (James), and the late Norma Habighorst (late William). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 93 years and a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. Sonny was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard. Longtime member of the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church Society of St. Julien Eymard, and Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council 1724. He retired from Holy Name of Mary after many years as maintenance coordinator.
