Esteban Fernandez De Castro

Esteban Fernandez de Castro, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12, 2017. Esteban (Yiyin) was born in Bayamo, Cuba and was a resident of Gretna, Louisiana. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Aracelis F. de Castro Martinez. His sons, George de Castro and his wife Julie, Steve de Castro and his wife Darlene, his daughter, Maria (Maloli) de Castro Hernandez and her husband Nick. Grandfather of Michael, Marc, George, Dara, Monica, Hailey, Christopher, Nicolas, Ashley and Annalisa. Great grandfather of Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Jessica, Paige, Bella, Blaine, Zachary, Mia, Brooklyn, and Jacob, along with many nieces and nephews.
Son of the late Rafael Fernandez de Castro and Maria Dolores Fuentes Heredia.
Brother of Mirta Fernandez de Castro Serrano and the late Rafael Enrique, Rodolfo, Carlos, Roberto, William, Rene, Emma, Graciela, and Margot. Esteban's greatest passion was music. In earlier years he was a member of the New Orleans Opera. He dedicated his life singing for the Lord. He made several Christian CDs. Now he is in his glory, singing to the Lord in heaven.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM followed by a Service in the Chapel at 11 AM. Interment will be private.
