Mannie brought immense love, warmth, and dedication to everyone blessed to be a part of his life.

Emile Sanford, affectionately known as “Mannie,” passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on February 12, 1957, Mannie brought immense love, warmth, and dedication to everyone blessed to be a part of his life.

Mannie was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in the world around him. He had a deep passion for fishing, always finding peace and happiness out on the water. He also loved immersing himself in the rhythm of music, the storytelling of movies and ghost stories. More than any hobby, however, his family was his entire world. Everything he did was rooted in his immense love and dedication to those he held dear.

For the last 30 years, Mannie shared a deeply special bond with his life partner and girlfriend, Rebecca Ledet. His profound devotion to her was evident to all, as he lovingly and tenderly cared for her medical needs over the years.

He was the beloved son of Mary Ann Rome and Floyd Rome. A devoted brother, Mannie grew up alongside his siblings, Tabitha Juneau, Crystel Boudreaux, and Floyd Rome Jr., sharing a lifetime of cherished memories and unbreakable family bonds.

As a proud and loving father, Mannie’s legacy lives on through his daughter, Brittany Barrett, and his stepchildren, Brandy Barrett and Alvin Mathern. His heart grew even larger as a grandfather, and he leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love for his grandchildren: Ava, Emily, Alia, Aiden, Landen, Magan, Ragan, Jamie, Ashlyn, and Skylar.

Mannie’s circle of love extended to his godchildren, Wayne Jr., Shannon, and Kaleb. He was a fun, supportive uncle to his nieces and nephews, including Michael, Jeremy, and Tristan, as well as many cherished great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mannie’s kind spirit, gentle guidance, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
