Elwood Frank Buras, Sr.

Elwood Frank Buras, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Gloria B. Buras. Son of the late Frank Buras and Verna Smith Buras. Father of Priscilla Smith (the late Wade), Joy Casanova (the late Glen), Harold Wallace (Patty) and the late Elwood “Frog” Buras, Jr. and Guy Lynn Buras (Survived by Nancy). Elwood is survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is the brother of Leander Buras (the late Linda) and the late Lucille Bernard, Bertrand Buras, Irvin Buras, Mercedes Broussard, Glenda Cedotal, Hazel, Verna, Esther and Myrtle. Elwood is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong resident of Venice, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 28698 LA-23, Port Sulphur, LA on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 9AM until 10:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:30AM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery, Buras, Louisiana.
