Elton J. Barrilleaux Sr.

Elton Joseph Barrilleaux Sr passed away on January 18, 2024 at the age of 89. He was a native of Marrero all his life. His personality was larger than life itself. He will always be remembered for his generosity and love for his family.

He was welcomed into the gates of heaven by his beloved late wife Marian Barrilleaux, late son Elton Barrilleaux Jr, and late daughters Nancy B Keir and Carol B Gooden. He was preceded in death by his parents Wartel Barrilleaux and Claire Barrilleaux. He was the brother of the late Wartel Barrilleaux Jr, Gerald Barrilleaux, Helena Falgou, Rita Becnel, Dottie Rodriguez and Essie Breaux.

He is survived by his sisters Myrtle Palmisano and Margaret Breaux; his daughter Bonnie B Ingle (Frank); his very special niece Connie Breaux; his grandchildren Troy Barrilleaux (Katrina), Melissa Ingle, Bobby Keir (Megan), Raymond Keir, Nicole Gooden, Holly Gooden, and Trey Gooden; his 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for over 30 years, as well as serving in the reserves for the Army.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, in  Marrero, LA on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5pm-8pm. On Saturday, February 3, 2024 there will be visitation from 8am-9:30am at Mothe Funeral Home, followed by mass from 9:30am-10:30am. The burial will take place from 11am-12pm at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave, in Gretna, LA.
