Ellis Ernest Verdin, Sr. entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2023. Beloved husband of Oleta Smith Verdin. Father of Ronald Verdin, Ellis Verdin, Jr. (late Mary), Gerald Verdin, Jane Barrios, Wayne Verdin, Linda Wait (Gary), David Verdin (Lupe), Daniel Verdin (Angela), Glenn Verdin (Shellie), and the late Randy Verdin (Cindy). Grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 17. Son of the late Ernest Verdin and Theresa Verdun Verdin. Brother of Rufus “Bobby” Gaubert (Bobbi), Elsie G. Theriot (late Ernest), Lois G. Landreneaux (late Clarence), and the late Rudy Gaubert. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Age 100 years, a native of Barataria, LA and resident of Luling, LA. Ellis was a World War II Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He spent his career in the oilfield until retirement.
