Elizabeth Ditta Roos

Elizabeth Ditta Roos (“Dugie”) passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend whose presence and unmistakable spirit will be deeply missed.

Dugie was strong-willed, determined, and never afraid to speak her mind. She viewed the world through her own lens and lived with conviction, humor, and heart. Those who knew her best understood that her stubbornness and fire were simply reflections of how deeply she cared. She had a habit of doing things her own way, whether that meant standing her ground in an argument or taking her late-night strolls through the neighborhood, confidently making the rounds as if she owned the streets. It was classic Dugie: independent, fearless, and unapologetically herself.

Above all else, Dugie was a devoted mother. She shared an unbreakable bond with her daughter, Mandy Roos Poché, and her son, Christian Roos. Even when opinions differed or words were hard to find, her love for her children remained constant.

Dugie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Roos, and her brothers, Tony Ditta and Mike Ditta (Laura).

She is survived by her children, Mandy Roos Poché (Dustin) and Christian Roos; her grandchildren: Mia and Madison; her siblings: Roseann Allemand (Kim), Alicia Chambers (Gordon), Sam Ditta (Sybil), and David Ditta (Samantha); and many cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Mothe Funeral Home, located at 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Elizabeth to Louisiana SPCA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
