Edward O'Neal Short

Edward O’Neal Short entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Irene Ann Ordoyne Short. Son of the late Harold Short and Birdie Cooper Short. Father of Melissa Scheu, Michael Short and the late Eddie Short, Jr. (survived by wife Melinda McGovern). Grandfather of Brandon, T. J., Taylor (Hazel Margaret Short) and Savannah (Patrick Cusimano). Great Grandfather of Nola Scheu. 

Edward was born in Marshall, Texas and resided in Terrytown for over 50 years. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 through 1958, and spent 18 months overseas in the Philippines and Japan. He spent 22 years as a Chief Operator at Alliance Refinery Sohio Chevron in Plaquemines Parish, 29 years with Gulf BP Oil, 11 ½ years with Hassie Hunt Trust, approximately 1 year with “HOMCO” (Houston Oil Field Material Company and several years part-time and otherwise with H.L. Packard as a Contractor in the oil field. 

Funeral Service will be privately held at a later date.
