Edward Lee Boudreaux Jr. October 3, 1942 – September 12, 2025
Edward Lee Boudreaux Jr., 82, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena Foto Boudreaux and Edward Lee Boudreaux Sr., and by his ex-wife, Leah Valerie Boudreaux.
He is survived by his family: his children, Edward “Beau” L. Boudreaux III, Nathan M. Boudreaux (Martha), and Alexis “Lexi” V. Kesner (Chase); his beloved grandchildren, Edward “Eddy” L. Boudreaux IV, Louise, Catherine, and Evelyn Boudreaux, and Emily and James Kesner; his sister, Mary Lee Gibbons (Tim); his nieces Rebecca Maught (Adrien) and Rachel Gouaux (Gene); grandnieces and grandnephews: Evelyn, Cecile, Adrien IV, and Asher Maught; Paul, Tommy, and David Gouaux.
Lee lived a full life devoted to his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication through his children - Lexi, Nathan, and Beau. Lee practiced the principle that charity begins at home by assisting friends and family in small thoughtful ways. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
For decades Lee brought his camera to gatherings and delighted in taking pictures. His photographing was elevated to the next level when he snapped up a digital camera and was only limited by his memory card. But when Lee bought an iPhone, he reached new heights entirely. He began memorializing all those around him in videos in addition to both posed and candid photos. In like fashion, the family set up an email for friends to share stories and pictures with us or for the funeral; please send to them to LeeAintDerNoMore@gmail.com.
Lee relished eating out with friends, especially seafood whether raw, boiled, or fried. He loved socializing with friends & family in the Contessa Entellina Society. Throughout his life, he enjoyed bringing friends to soak in live theater throughout the city. He also enjoyed live music from musical artists like Roy Orbison to New Orleans’ own The Big Easy Boys. Lee will especially be missed by the many friends he made at the Gretna Senior Center and Our Lady of Wisdom Nursing Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Ave, Gretna, LA 70053. Visitation will take place from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., followed by Mass. A repast will be held afterward at the Knights of Columbus Hall behind the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Lee’s name to the Camp Abbey Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded to families experiencing hardship, allowing more children to experience the joys of summer at Camp Abbey. Donation checks should be made payable to Camp Abbey Retreat Center and note “Lee Boudreaux” in the memo line. Lee’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
