Eddie D. Higgins, Sr. entered eternal rest on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the age of 70. Beloved son of the late Bessie Sullivan Higgins and Willie Higgins. Father of Eddie Higgins, Jr. and Derrek Higgins (Jaicel Higgins). Loving Grandfather of Raizou Higgins. Eddie is the brother of Barbara Hicks (the late Tommy), Jenny Olender (Arnold), Irma Floyd (Larry), Patricia Flick (Danny), George Higgins and Marty Higgins (Cindy). He is also survived by a multitude of loving family and friends.

Eddie was profoundly inspired by his grandson, Raizou, sparking an unrelenting passion that ignited a radiant flame of unwavering resolve within him, illuminating a glorious path to unparalleled greatness. He was wholeheartedly devoted to his work in the oil and gas industry, striving for excellence. His hobbies included fishing and farming, particularly okra, cooking gumbo and sweets, which brought him boundless joy, a profound sense of accomplishment and a deeper connection to life’s simple yet profound pleasures. He was thrilled to celebrate the 4th of July and New Year’s Eve with fireworks, alongside his sons and grandson, forging unforgettable memories that would inspire generations to come and leave a lasting legacy of love, laughter and adventure creating lifelong memories.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Friday, March 27, 2026, beginning at 9AM until 1:30PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Highway 23, Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
