Earl J. Roddy

Earl J. Roddy passed away peacefully on March 2, 2017 at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of the late Janet Plaisance Roddy. Father of Ellen Rogers and the late Rhonda Valotta. Father-in-law of Doug Valotta, Frank Rogers and the late Andew Touro Sr. Grandfather of Shawn (Candice), Kimberly (Chris), Andrew Jr. (Lauren), Christopher (Jenni) and Lauren (Craig). Great-grandfather of Madelyn, Craig Jr., Emily, Drew, Zachary, Angelina, Sylas, Shawn Jr., Charlee and Evelyn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Una Faucheaux Roddy and James Roddy and brothers, Harry and Don Roddy. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Earl served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War with foreign service in The Philippines. He later worked as a grain weigher for Continental Grain in Westwego and later retired from ADM Growmark. Following his retirement, he worked at Avondale Shipyard. A devout Christian, Earl was a lifelong member of God’s House (Westbank Cathedral). He touched the lives of so many during his years and will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at God’s House, 7301 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 10 AM to 11 AM. Memorial Services will follow.
