Eads J. Doucet Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born in Cut Off, Louisiana on February 1, 1943.
He is the husband of Ellen Segura-Doucet; the father of Jamie Brown (Greg), Amie Alvarado (Jaime’), Tiffanie Legrand (Chase), Jonathan Fockler (Monica), and Janaee’ Perez (Jace); the grandfather of Ashley Liner (Johnny), Marissa Baudoin (Craig), Laura McKee (Jordan), Gavin Danos, Cristal Patterson (Patrick), Jesus Salcido, Emily Salcido, Alaina Champagne, Cooper Legrand, Alexa Fockler, Mackenzlie Ewing, Jon-Paul Fockler, Juliet Perez, and Jazlyn Perez; and great-grandfather of Anden Liner, Lainey Liner, Zaiden Liner, Kinley Baudoin, Hazel Baudoin, Mya McKee, Myles McKee, Chevi Danos, Avery Patterson, and Kade Patterson. He is also survived by his siblings Mabel Williamson, Ricky Doucet Sr. (Phylis) Kippy Doucet Sr. (Rosanna) Kim Doucet (Donna), nieces and nephews Dean, Brian, Dawn, Ricky Jr. Mindy, Krissy, Kippy Jr., Melody, and Kimberly. He was met in Heaven by grandson Baby Eads Salcido, and his loving parents Eads J. Doucet Sr. and Rena Knight Doucet.
A native of Cut Off, Louisiana. and proud resident of Westwego, Louisiana, for over 70 yrs, Eads worked as a professional Master Carpenter Perfectionist with Donahue Favert for 35 yrs.
Eads was a loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time on the water fishing and shrimping. However, his true passion was spending time with his family, friends and cruising. Eads was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the wake at MOTHE Funeral Home, located at 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, Louisiana, 70072, on Tuesday, January 20, from 4pm-9pm. The following morning, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, a visitation will be held at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, located at 3500 Ames Blvd, Marrero, Louisiana, 70072, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 10am until 12pm. The Funeral Mass will start at 12pm, followed by interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana, 70056.
