Dudley Alfred Schouest Sr.

Dudley Alfred Schouest Sr., a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 30, 2025, at West Jefferson Hospital. Born on November 2, 1935, in Raceland, Louisiana, Dudley was known for his warm personality and his ability to connect with everyone he met, treating all as friends. His life was characterized by dedication, both in his work and his passions.

Dudley enjoyed a fulfilling career as a truck driver for ABF and Delta Motor Lines, where he demonstrated not only commitment but also an admirable work ethic. Additionally, he took pride in serving as the Vice President for the Local 270 Teamsters, an accomplishment that reflected his leadership and dedication to his profession.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dudley had a profound love for his family. He enjoyed spending time with them, and his proudest moments included beekeeping, a passion he cherished deeply. Many afternoons were spent in the garden with his beloved wife, Janet Lineman Schouest, at their Waveland, Mississippi property, where they nurtured both their plants and their love for one another.

Dudley is survived by his son, Dudley (Ann) Schouest Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Donna Richoux Schouest; his grandson, Stephen D. (Ashleigh) Schouest; and his granddaughter, Shea King. His legacy continues through the love and memories shared with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude Pertuit; his father, Anatole Schouest; his wife, Janet; his son, Stephen J. Schouest; and siblings Adam Schouest, Donald Schouest, Dorothy Stortz, Daniel Schouest, Mary Ann Rodriquez, and Betty Becker.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on July 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Both events will be held at Marrero - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, Louisiana, 70072.

Dudley's gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and passion for life will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy is one rooted in love, family, and a community that he embraced wholeheartedly.
