Douglas Patrick Simmons

Douglas Patrick Simmons, born in Port Sulphur, LA, on September 10, 1964, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the age of 61, surrounded by family. Mr. Simmons lived in Buras, LA.

Douglas is the son of Philip Hamilton Simmons and Gloria Mae (Suire) Simmons. He was the loving brother of Anita Simmons and Philip Simmons III (Kristen). He is also survived by his niece, Rachel, and nephew, Chase, his foster kids, and many, many friends.

Douglas worked offshore in the oil and gas industry. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and his music. What he loved most of all was spending time with his family.

The family would like to thank the Ochsner Westbank team, Compassus Hospice, Hope Lodge, and the American Cancer Society for their assistance, as well as all those who were involved in his journey.

His funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10th, at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment to immediately follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Belle Chasse, LA.
