Dorothy Theresa Breaux Sutton went to her eternal reward on March 31 , 2026, at the age of 98, on, what would have been her 78th wedding anniversary. Dorothy, or Dot as she was affectionately known, was born on March 2, 1928, to Ralph and Lucille Breaux in New Orleans (Algiers). Dot graduated from Martin Behrman High School, and married her high school sweetheart, Floyd Sutton, on March 31, 1948. Dot and Floyd were married for over 66 years until Floyd's death in 2014. Dot and Floyd lived in Algiers for most of their lives, prior to moving to Belle Chase in 1999. Dot and Floyd were active parishioners at St. Joseph, St. Julian Eymard and St Andrew the Apostle Parishes in Algiers for over 60 years combined. Dot enjoyed watching the Saints games with Floyd and playing cards with her high school friends for over 40. After Floyd's death, Dot continued to live in Belle Chase for several years, until she moved to assisted living in group homes; first in her beloved Algiers and, for her final two years, in Metairie. Dot was predeceased by her parents and by her sister Joyce Breaux Avallone and her brother Warren Joseph Breaux, Sr. Dot is survived by her children: Randy J Sutton (Martha), Dale Sutton Bucher (Alex) and Sandy Sutton Ursin (Joe). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marc Sutton, Matthew Sutton, Amanda Sutton Meche, Alex Bucher, Ill, Bradley Bucher and Chelsea Bucher McEnturff. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and one on the way. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3101 Eton Street, Algiers, LA, at 11:OOAM, with visitation beginning at 9:30AM. Interment will immediately follow at Westlawn cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, Masses would be preferred.
