Dorothy “Tally” McDonald Gros, Age 83, of Marrero, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 12, 1942, in Walnut Grove, Mississippi. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Stanley and Sybil McMillan. She was a woman of deep faith, a kind and generous soul, and someone whose warmth and steady presence brought comfort to everyone blessed to know her. Dorothy lived her life with grace, strength, and a heart always open to others. Dorothy owned Mac’s and Company Restaurant for 30 years, during which her hard work, dedication, and genuine care for her customers earned her the respect and affection of many. She took great pride in everything she did and was known for giving her very best in both her work and her relationships. Above all else, Dorothy cherished her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved. She is survived by her four children, Roxie Sloan (Rob), Roger Connor (Leslie), Samuel McDonald III (Angie), Shea McDonald (Lauren), her sister Rita White (Bob), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon DeBlanc, husbands, Sanuel McDonald II and Jesse Gros. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 10 AM to 12:00 PM at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 600 2nd Street, Harvey, Louisiana. Mass will follow at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana. Though Dorothy is no longer with us, the love she gave, the faith she lived by, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
