Dorita Guillo Gonzalez entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Rafael Gonzalez for 56 years. Daughter of the late Jose Luis Guillo and Olga Mercedes Martinez. Loving and devoted mother of Patricia Roberts (the late William Roberts), Luz Maria Gonzalez, Ana Gonzalez Maldonado (the late Rafael Maldonado, Adela Gonzalez Liebowitz (Greg Liebowitz) and the late Juan Rafael Gonzalez. Loving Grandmother of Roberto Martinez, Jr., Stephanie Roberts, William Jeffrey Roberts (Beza Mekonnen), Ashley Roberts (Ray Rounsaville, Jr.), Sofia Maldonado and Sierra Liebowitz. Great Grandmother of Gabrielle Roberts, John Roberts, Oliver Roberts, Lilli Roberts, Henry Roberts, Thomas Roberts and Lydia Roberts. Loving sister of Thelma Guillo Culajay (The late Francisco Culajay), Adilia Guillo Hernandez (the late Miguel Angel Hernandez), Louis Guillo (Zory Guillo), Jose Eduardo Marti Guillo (Gladys Marti) and the late Haydee Guillo Gonzalez (the late Manuel Gonzalez), Jose Guillo (Survived by Luz Marina Sosa Guillo) and the late Carmen Guillo. Dorita is also survived by many nieces and nephews. As a child artist she started performing at an early age at The Academy of Marta Bolanos de Prado in Guatemala City. She performed in the “Teatro Para Ninos”. Soon after that, she became a professional singer and with her friend formed a duo called “The Dorys Sisters” and toured Central and South America. Around this time, she met her husband, Rafael Gonzalez, a musician, and stayed together in the music world for many years. In 1968, she emigrated to the United States with her husband and their five children to start a new life. Dorita was a loving and devoted mom and a wonderful wife. She loved to entertain friends and family and made every occasion so special. She also loved cooking and decorating, especially during the holidays. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11AM. Interment will be in Lakelawn Park Mausoleum, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
