Doris Ann Fourcade Moreau

Doris Ann Fourcade Moreau passed away on June 30, 2023 at the age of 84.  She was born in New Orleans on May 27, 1939.  She is the beloved wife of 50 years to Weston "Butsie" Moreau, Jr.; Mother of Robert Hymel, Jr. (Dawn), Randy Hymel (Michelle), April Rink (Randy), Wes Moreau, III; and Gordon Moreau; loving Grandmother of Cory Hymel, Spencer Rink, Samantha Rink, Dustin Hymel, Devin Hymel, Luke Moreau, Matthew Moreau; Great Grandmother of Spencer Rink, Jr. and Sister of Gail Franchina (Tony).  Doris is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lanette Marie Hymel; parents Paul and Louise Fourcade. She was a native of New Orleans, a graduate of Holy Angels Academy and a resident of Avondale for many years. Doris and myself met through Doris’ best friend, Jane; it was love at first sight.  We dated for a year; she had 3 children from previous marriage and I had 2.  We married May 26, 1973 and became a family.  We decided we wanted another child and had our son, Weston, III.  We have been married over 50 years.  Doris was a hard worker inside and outside our home.  She worked in accounting for Aratex Uniforms, Standard Coffee and retired with Zatarains after many years.  Doris was a loving mother and grandmother who love to cook, try new restaurants, read novels, travel and spend time with her family.  She will be greatly missed.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Charity in memory of Doris. Immediately following the Memorial Mass, family and close friends are invited to Wes’ home.  Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 12PM until 1:30PM.  A Memorial Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30PM.  Interment will be held privately at a later date.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
