Dora Lee Stewart Frierson

Dora Lee Stewart Frierson, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 13, 2024 at the age of 97.   She was born on August 21, 1926 in Waveland, Mississippi to George Washington Stewart and Agnes Naomi Keller Stewart.  On June 17, 1946, Dora married Thomas Jefferson Frierson in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.  They later moved from Picayune, Mississippi to Plaquemines Parish, first residing in Buras in 1959, co-owning Frierson’s Electric Service, which opened 1966 and retiring and relocating to Belle Chasse in 1977.  

Dora had two sons, Perry and Thomas J.  She also has two daughter-in laws, Jane Marie and Toni.  Her granddaughters include Victoria (Vickey), Cassie and Katie.  Her GREAT grandson, Mathew Scarabin (Amber) and her GREAT-GREAT grandchildren, Harper (MINE) and Maximus (Max) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry, Katie, and all her siblings, Ida Graham, Elvira Frierson, Arlie Craddock, Clayton Stewart, numerous in-laws and her longtime friend, Mary Frances Dorr.  

Family and Friends are invited to Mothe’s Funeral Home located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072 on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 9:30am to 11:00 am.  A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 am in the chapel.   Interment to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park located at 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana.
