Donna Mayeaux Brooks

Donna Mayeaux Brooks, age 59, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on January 4, 1967, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Donna was a strong, resilient woman who endured and overcame so much throughout her life.

Donna cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure. She found comfort in her favorite classic television shows and in the music of the 1980s—songs that carried her back to brighter, joyful memories.

She was deeply grateful for her mother’s unwavering love and devoted care, which remained constant throughout the years and into her final hours.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Mayeaux Sr.; her son, Anthony Mayeaux; her sister, Joanna Mayeaux; and her brother, Kenneth Mayeaux Jr.

She leaves behind her daughter, Holly Brooks (Joe); her son, Lee Brooks; her beloved grandchildren, Darryll Malkowski Jr., Lee Michael, Kahlin, and Addyson Mulkey; her mother, Frances "Honeybun" Mayeaux; her aunt, Mattie Ladner; her sisters, Karen Lauve (Jay), Cynthia Mayeaux, and Francine Gegenheimer (Gary); and her brother, Ken Mayeaux; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation in celebration of Donna's life on May 7, 2026, at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La. beginning at 12pm followed by a private ceremony at 3pm. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes memorials to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
