Diane Dominguez Baldwin entered eternal rest on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on September 19, 1944, and was the youngest of twelve children. She is a native New Orleanian and a long-term resident of Terrytown. Diane grew up in the Irish Channel of New Orleans, where her deep roots and lifelong friendships began. She was a devoted Catholic from a young age and attended St. Alphonsus School and Redemptorist High School, where her faith and strong values were nurtured and remained the foundation of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Baldwin, Sr; her parents, Ernesto and Josephina Dominguez; her siblings Ella Quinn, Stella Rogers, Ernestine Bird, Joseph “Pappy” Dominguez, Ernesto Dominguez, Jr. Louis Dominguez, Florence Kelly, Melrose Lobrono Josephina “Josie” Dominguez. She is also preceded in death by her mother-in-law Stella Baldwin Nulty (Mac), her father-in-law Charles Baldwin, her sisters-in-law Evelyn “DeeDee” Ripoll” and Kathy Sigur and her brother-in-law Philip Baldwin, Sr.
She is survived by her loving children, Charles “Joe” Baldwin, Jr., Jade Baldwin, Sr. (Jeanna), and Chantel Baldwin Dufour (Rodney); her cherished grandchildren Gabrielle, Matthew (Courtney), Jade Jr. (Christine), Andrew, Lexie, and Jarrod; her treasured great-grandchildren Amelia, Finley, and Seraphina; and her beloved grand-puppy, Roman, who brought her so much joy. She is also survived by her sister Marina Ruiz; her brother Robert John Dominguez (Joann); her sister-in-law Angie Baldwin; her brother-in-law Greg Sigur; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends whom she loved so very much.
Diane was a devoted Parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She faithfully prayed the Rosary and Divine Mercy daily and attended Adoration regularly. Her faith was the guiding light of her life. She was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers, never missing a football game and cheering faithfully from her favorite chair. Diane was a wonderful cook and gifted party planner who loved bringing people together. Her home was always open — a place of laughter, good food, celebrations, and unforgettable memories. She loved to talk, dance, laugh and sing. She was a beautiful strong woman who was always willing to help others. She never met a stranger. Diane was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will never be forgotten for the special, generous woman she was.
The family offers their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to her devoted son, Charles “Joe” Baldwin, Jr., who lovingly cared for his mother over the last six years. She leaned on him daily for strength, comfort, and reassurance, and through him, she experienced Christ’s tender love in her time of need. He was her protector, her advocate, and her steady presence. His selfless devotion was a living example of honoring his mother in both word and deed, and his faithful care gave her dignity, peace, and the comfort of knowing she was deeply loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 610 Sixth Street in Gretna, LA. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
