Diana Margrett Pitre Redd

Diana Redd, born in Houma, LA on May 4, 1934, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 14, 2025 at the age of 91 surrounded by family. Diana resided in Harvey, LA.

Diana is survived by children Douglas Redd, Jr. (Joni), Cindy Thompson (Kevin), and Melanie Dupre (late “Blake”); grandchildren Michelle Parr (Greg), Raquel Redd, Derrick Redd (Tami), Mitchell Redd, Mason Redd, Samantha Redd, Travis Thompson (Bianka), Tyler Thompson, Devin Gallina, and John Dupre, Jr. (Ashley); great-grandchildren Brandon, Dillon, Alysa, Tyler, Bailey, Matthew, Allison, Emberlyn, Blair, Ryder, Lillianna, Hunter, and Julian; great-great-grandchildren Brylynn, Brydyn, and Bryxtyn; siblings Jamie Dubois and Mark Pitre; and dear friend Ann Abretski. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Redd Sr; her children Carl Redd and Tommy Redd; grandson Dustin Dupre; siblings Shirley Cambre (Wayne) and Wayne Pitre; and dear friend Dolores Palermo.

Diana and her husband Douglas owned a tugboat company for many years, where Diana served as port captain, handling crew changes, supplies, and payroll. She was also a fulltime homemaker and mother of five. Diana was known for her love of music, singing, and dancing. She was constantly surrounded by friends due to her kind nature, pure heart, and awesome sense of humor. Diana loved playing cards with family and friends, participating in weekly games with friends for many years. She also challenged formidable opponents in Scrabble, and was still winning until her passing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Diana’s funeral service at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey, LA on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11am. Visitation will begin at 9:30am and interment will follow the service at Westlawn Memorial Park.
