Deryl J. Barras died suddenly on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson, LA at the young age of 52 years.
He leaves his loving wife, Cynthia Vidrine Barras. His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his most loving children, Kassie Julia Barras and Waveless (R.J.) Breaux; two loving step-children, Daniell Stewart and Paul (P.J.) Stewart Jr.; five loving grandchildren, Gabriella Barras, Natalee Breaux, Ryne Breaux, Leonardo Stewart and Antonio Cardenas. He was also survived by his loving twin sister Donna Barras Abadie, brother-in-law Stephen Paul Abadie as well as loving sister, Cynthia Bruce Falcon, brother-in-law Camille J. Falcon and his sisters-in-law, Lavern Bruce and Dianne Bruce. He also survived with a host of many nieces and nephews, cousins, many devoted family members and a host of friends who adored his pleasant personality.
He was preceded in death by his most loving parents, Dudley Vincent Barras and Dorothy Hollingsworth Barras; his most caring grandparents, Julia Thibodeaux Barras and James Barras Sr.; two amazing brothers, Dewey Andrew Bruce Jr. and Daniel Emile Bruce Sr.
He was plant manager for Jefferson Parish School Board for 30 plus years and the former owner with his twin sister of “Twin’s Cafe” as he loved cooking and was an excellent cook.
Deryl was an avid hunter, fisherman, loved playing pool and loved listening and dancing with his wife to Swamp Pop music, namely the “Aaron Foret Swamp Pop Band”.
He always made the impossible happen time and time again, he was truly a “Jack of All Trades” and would help anyone. His loving and unselfish attitude led him to be a donor that in his death, he will allow another to live on in his spirit. He never had an enemy and just loved his family with all his heart. He loved life itself and believed in the most higher powers of God.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Friday from 8 AM to 11 AM.
