Denis C. Devenport, Sr.

Denis Culbertson Devenport Sr., 81, died Tuesday on October 20, 2023.

Mr. Devenport was the owner of a successful printing company, Devenport Bros Inc. He played the saxophone in several bands including American Legion Band, the Shriners Band, and the Delgado Community College Band and had the privilege to play at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for several years. When not playing music, he was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Devenport is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lynda Devenport, his children Denis Devenport Jr. (Lisa), Dian Niehaus (Mark) and Marc Devenport (Lezley) and seven grandchildren Denis Devenport III, Stephanie Devenport, Sera Niehaus, Jacob Niehaus, Jonathan Neihaus (Alexis), Adam Devenport and Eric Devenport. He is preceded in death his parents Joseph Felix Devenport and Catherine Cuccia Devenport and his sister Kathleen Devenport DeHoog.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 27th from 1 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. for a memorial visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway in Harvey.
