David Hilton Toups

David Hilton Toups passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 67. David was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 13, 1959 to the late Hilton Dumas Toups and Mary Schumaker Toups. A native of Gretna, Louisiana, he resided in Gastonia, North Carolina since December 2021 to be closer to his daughter and grandson. Survivors include his daughter Kristina (Toups) Butler and husband Kyle Butler, beloved grandson Ryan Butler, his siblings Kathleen Arendt, Stella Breland, Michael Toups and their families. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his siblings Deborah Toups Sevin and Mark Toups.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 8968 Hwy. 23 S., Belle Chasse, Louisiana on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11 a.m., with visitation at the church beginning at 9 a.m. A private interment for immediate family will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park in Terrytown, Louisiana.
