David Lee Dean, age 87 years young, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2017 surrounded by his caring and loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved and beautiful wife of 44 years, Mary Lynne Aprill Dean; his parents, James Clyde Dean and Mary Corrine Loubiere Dean; 3 big brothers, Elmo, Marvin and Charles ; loving sister, Doris. David is loving father of David Dean (Rhonda). He is grandfather of 2 wonderful grandchildren, Danielle and Sarah. David is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many lifelong friends. David was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana on November 28, 1929. As a young man, after graduating from Plaquemine High School, he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to New Orleans, attended Souleau Business College and worked for the Red River Barge Line. During that time he followed his interest in acting and performed in numerous Community Theatre productions. From that point he married, had a son, and traveled the world. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and humor. He was a strong man of faith and had a true passion for life and friendship. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A special thank you to the Winters’ family for their love and support. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, March 9, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Internment St. Patrick Cemetery # 1 in New Orleans.
