Darren Arnold

October 5, 1968 — February 27, 2024

Darren Arnold, born on October 5, 1968, in New Orleans, passed away on February 27, 2024. He was the beloved son of Geraldine Petersen Arnold and Bert Arnold, and loving brother to Ashton Arnold. Darren faced life with resilience and courage, even from a young age when he was diagnosed with MD at 18 years old.

He attended O Perry Walker High School and pursued higher education at the University of New Orleans. Darren's passion for fitness led him to become a certified personal trainer, positively impacting many lives along the way.

In 2017, Darren married the love of his life, Heather Pelitere, daughter of Frank and Judy Pelitere. Together for 20 years, their union brought them happiness and fulfillment, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Darren was a devoted husband.  And Heather was there taking care of Darren every step of the way, until the very end, as he battled such a horrible disease.

Throughout his life, Darren was a pillar of strength for his family, especially for his brother Ashton, whom he cared for until his passing. Their bond was unbreakable, and Darren's selflessness and devotion will forever be cherished.

Darren is preceded in death by his mother Geraldine, father Bert, and his Aunt Linda.  He will be dearly missed by his in-laws Frank and Judy Pelitere, brother-in-law Michael Pelitere(Margaret), and his niece and nephews, Chloe, Cameron, and Collin. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance.

A special mention goes to caregivers Edwin King and Kathleen Parnell, along with many others who showed kindness to Darren and Heather during their journey.

Darren's memory will be cherished by his friends, including Alec Bruno, Mark Chaplain, John Moore, Todd Dulcich, and the entire Nunes Family. His love for football, war games, and video games brought joy to those around him.

Though Darren's journey has come to an end, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Inspiration House, a cause close to Darren's heart at: Inspirations House, PO Box 6277, New Orleans, LA,  70174.
