Daniel Farrell Nolan, Jr. June 25, 1950 - November 5, 2026

"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day." John 6:37-40

Daniel Farrell Nolan, Jr., affectionately known as "Danny" and beloved to generations of family as "Uncle Danny," passed away peacefully on November 5, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 76 years old.

Born on June 25, 1950, in Algiers, Louisiana, Danny lived a life distinguished by deep faith, devotion to family, generous service to others, and enduring friendship. He was the cherished eldest son of the late Daniel Farrell Nolan, Sr. and Martha Daigle Nolan.

Danny graduated from St. Aloysius High School, Class of 1968, and earned his degree from the University of New Orleans College of Business. He enjoyed a distinguished career as an accountant with Entergy, serving both the New Orleans, Louisiana and Little Rock, Arkansas offices before retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Although accomplished professionally, Danny's greatest calling was caring for others. He was a gentle and nurturing son who devoted himself lovingly to the care and support of his mother. He was a devoted brother, treasured uncle, trusted friend, and a man whose quiet kindness touched countless lives. His generosity, humility, and unwavering concern for others made him a source of comfort and strength to all who knew him.

A faithful parishioner of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Algiers, Danny lived his Catholic faith through service and example. In recognition of his dedication to his parish and the Church, he was honored by the Archdiocese of New Orleans with the prestigious Order of St. Louis Award. He was also an active member of the Westbank Lions Club, where he served as President and was recognized as Lion of the Year.

Danny embraced life with gratitude and enthusiasm. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and season ticket holder for many years, faithfully supporting his beloved Saints through every season. Yet those who knew him best will remember not his accomplishments, but his kindness, faith, loyalty, and genuine love for family and friends.

He is survived by his brother, David Nolan and wife Roselyn; his brother, Christopher Nolan and wife Michelle; and his sister, Martha Nolan Leake and husband Bob.

He was the proud and loving uncle of Bradley Nolan (Linnette), Erin Nolan Young (John), Kelly Nolan Arms (Sean), Melanie Nolan Diket (Dave), Monica Nolan Doize (Chris), Melissa Nolan Petz (Brandon), Jessica Marasco Illes (Derek), and Andrea Marasco Songy (Michael), together with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Farrell Nolan, Sr. and Martha Daigle Nolan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 500 Eliza Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70114, on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Reverend Father John F. Talamo.

Danny's life was a testament to the virtues that defined him: Faithful. Loving. Caring. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friends he treasured, the parish he served, and the many lives he quietly enriched through kindness, generosity, and faith.

May he rest in the peace of Christ.
