Cynthia Rea Smith Saul was born on July 18, 1965, to Tommie Lee Smith Sr. and Dorothy M. Smith. She attended L.W. Higgins High School, where she earned her diploma, and later continued her education by receiving her certification in Medical Assistance.
Cynthia dedicated her life as a loving, nurturing mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She lived her life with love, compassion, and strength, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
Cynthia loved to cook — it might take a while, but when it was done, it was always perfect. Her meals were made with love and brought family and friends together, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sherman Smith, Elizabeth Cox, Albert Roscoe, and Dessirea Roscoe, as well as her father, Tommie Lee Smith Sr.
Cynthia met God at Heaven’s Gate on January 27, 2026.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Dorothy M. Smith, Fulton Saul Sr.; her devoted partner, Andrew Butler; her son, Fulton Saul Jr.; and her three beloved grandchildren, A’Myrie Saul (Ashley), Nasiah Saul (Niara), and Je’syrie Saul (Jessica). She is also survived by her sisters, Deloise Smith Tillman, Chenell Smith Slusher (Gilroy), and Tonie Carter Tubbs (Jerome); her brothers, Tommie Lee Smith Jr. (Margo) and Ellis Smith (Dianne); her goddaughter, Karisma Keonda Ash (James); and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Cynthia Rea Smith Saul will forever be remembered for her love of family, her kind heart, her wittiness, her strength, her feistiness (if you know, you know), and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
