Cynthia Ann Muhleisen, a lifelong resident of Gretna, Louisiana, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in New Orleans on June 1, 1949, Cynthia was surrounded by the love of her family in her final moments.
Cynthia was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar Brown and Leah Baudean Brown. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Ron Muhleisen (Tylar) and Richie Muhleisen (Nicole). She is also survived by her loving sister, Shelia Brown, and was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Barnes, and Karen’s late husband, Gary. Cynthia also leaves behind her beloved niece and nephew, Jennifer Barnes and Gary Barnes. Cynthia was the proud and cherished grandmother of Karli, Matthew, Mia, Logan, and Seth Muhleisen. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Their joy, laughter, and love brought her immeasurable happiness.
Cynthia retired from the Jefferson Parish School Board after many dedicated years of service. She spent her career at Livaudais, where she found deep fulfillment in her work and formed lifelong friendships with her colleagues.
Cynthia’s warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park, 1255 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Cynthia’s memory.
