Cynthia "Cindi" Ann Gambino

December 30, 1958 — December 9, 2025

Raceland

Cynthia “Cindi” Ann Gambino passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the age of 66. She was born to the late Eunice Lirette Gambino and Calvin John Gambino, Sr., in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 30, 1958.

Cindi is the mother of her best friend, her pride and joy, Kaci (Justin) Keller; grandmother of Reagan and Rhett Keller, and bonus-granddaughter Gia Gambino; Nanny to Brad Gambino, Duke Gambino, and Anthony Gambino; and sister to Calvin (Joy Roddy) Gambino, Jr. , Linda Gunn (the late Willie Mac Gunn), Laurie Kraemer, Kitty (Dom) Rando, AJ (Trisha) Gambino, Joy (Alan) Landry, David (Angela) Gambino, Brad (Stacey) Gambino, and the late Tina Marie Gambino. Cindi was the girlfriend of Leonard Jenkins, whom she loved so fiercely that you couldn’t wipe the smile off her face whenever she mentioned his name.

Cindi had many nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own: Tabatha, Kyle, Duke, Kelly, Kristen, Dean (Rita), Baby Rando, Caleigh, Aaron, Anthony (Landon), Olivia, Tyler, Haley, Logan, as well as the late Blake Kraemer and Dominick Rando. She was also “Grandma” to her sweet neighbors, Myles and Gil Garner.

A native and proud resident of Marrero for over 64 years, Cindi graduated from L.W. Higgins High School in 1976. She and her sister Laurie opened Gambino’s Hair Salon in February of that same year. Cindi also played and coached many sports at Belle Terre and PARD playgrounds. She refereed high school and adult league volleyball and was a fan favorite as a bartender in the Club Bar at Saints games for many years. She kept her poker keno group together since the 80s. She worked tirelessly as a single mom so her baby girl never did without.

Cindi loved Jesus and her Catholic faith. She was an avid weekly rosary group member for 22 years, enjoyed volunteering at Catholic Charities, and was a proud Salesian Cooperative. She also volunteered with the Visitation of Our Lady Altar Society. She absolutely loved to travel and took many Catholic pilgrimages around the world; however, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends, and her chickens.

In 2022 she relocated to Raceland, across the street from her daughter, making her baby girl’s dream come true. She spoiled her grandbabies, Reagan and Rhett, every chance she got—even if she had to sneak around their parents to do so. Cindi was unapologetically unique and irreplaceable, deeply respected, and fiercely loved. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Heaven surely is sparkling with rhinestones and glitter.

In remembrance of Cindi, and in lieu of flowers, please save your money and put it towards a trip. Live life fully, spread joy, and be adventurous.

The family wants everyone to rest assured, Cindi lived her life faithfully, and they know that upon entering the Gates of Heaven, she heard those precious words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
