Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Ronquillo Zito

Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Ronquillo Zito 66, a native of Port Sulphur and resident of Belle Chasse for the last 17 years, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 22, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
Cindy was born at Port Sulphur Hospital on January 25, 1956, the third child of Ellamae Vogt Ronquillo and Simon Joseph Ronquillo, Sr. Cindy leaves behind her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Howard Zito. Her two loving children Colin Zito, and Jamie Lynn Zito Delahoussaye (Ryan) and her grandchildren Gabrielle and Zoey Zito; Drew, Gauge and Jordan Delahoussaye; and great-granddaughter, Reagan Funez. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Ellamae, and her loving brother Simon Joseph “Joey” Ronquillo, Jr. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her siblings: Karen Ronquillo Ballay (John); Earl David Ronquillo (Rhonda); Lynda Ronquillo Ton; and Angelique Ronquillo Kennedy (James); her brothers-in-law Jack Zito (Cherie) and Jimmy Zito (Melanie) and sister-in-law Joanna Zito along with a host of nieces and nephews. Cindy was vibrant and full of life. She was a friend to everyone. She was a 1974 graduate of Delta Heritage Academy where she graduated with honors. She was a cheerleader and a member of the baseball and basketball teams. She was the Homecoming Queen and Miss DHA in 1974. Cindy was an excellent artist and florist. She worked at Fremin’s Just Next Door designing floral arrangements until she was stricken with a brain tumor in 1996. She recovered, but never fully enough to return to work. From then on, she focused on her family life. She loved her family and liked nothing better than to spend hours with her grandchildren.
Cindy was a devout Catholic and prayed for everyone. A beautiful Soul gone much too soon. She will be sadly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Belle Chasse Highway, Belle Chasse, Louisiana on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
