Claude I. Matherne Jr.

Claude I. Matherne Jr. passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Diane Pere Matherne. Father of Micah Matherne (Tiffany) and Garrett Matherne. Grandfather of Taylor Matherne. Brother of Chris Matherne (Christina) and Claudia Matherne (the late Lloyd). Son of the late Doris LeCompte Matherne and Claude I. Matherne Sr. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Claude graduated from West Jefferson High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He later went to work for Monsanto Chemicals and retired after 28 years of service. He loved grilling and hosting seafood boils for others and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

A visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 11:30am to 1:30pm. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA.
