Claude “Chip” Adrian Claverie passed away on May 22, 2026 at the age of 81. Chip was born October 1, 1944 to the late Lewis Sr and Ora Mae Claverie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Valerie Harding Claverie and were blessed with 5 children: Tommy (Annette), Brian (Christy), Scott, Michael, and Alisia Lowery (Dustin). He was a loving and attentive grandfather to Erica, Paige, Cameron (Amy), Kassie (Travis), Mason (Jordan), Michael (Maddie), Abby, Grace, Hayden, Leila and Brady. Chip is survived by 12 great grandchildren and one more expected.

He was proceeded in death by his sister Ora Lee Bartolo and will be greatly missed by two surviving brothers Lewis Jr. and Roy.

He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Over the years, Chip built a life centered on his family and work.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at East Jefferson Hospital 5th floor, and a special thank you to Tess Lassai and Drs. Burkenstock and Malhorta. We would also like to thank his friends and colleagues at Valves and Fittings where he worked for many years.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation (www.liverfoundation.org) and Cancer Research Foundation (www.cancerresearchfdn.org) in his name.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6th St, Gretna, Louisiana on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 9:00AM. Interment immediately following at McDonoghville Cemetery.
