Clare Marlowe Young

Clare Young peacefully transitioned to a better place on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Born on September 16, 1946, to Earl Burt Marlowe, Sr. and Frances Labit Marlowe. Clare is survived by two sons, Kenneth Smira (Stacy) and Edward Smira. Also survived by a brother, Earl Burt Marlowe, Jr. (Kay); a nephew, Jonathan Marlowe (Brandi); two nieces, Kasey Chappelle (Ben), and Elizabeth Serpas; and seven great nephews and nieces. Clare was a strong woman with many talents. A lover of all things Irish, she never met a stranger and was loved by many.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette St. Algiers, LA, on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 12pm until 2 pm. Prayer services will follow.
