Christena Ann
Alimia
Oct 9, 1969 — Oct 11, 2026
Lafitte
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Christena Ann Alimia (Curry), who passed away on October 11, 2026, just two days after her 57th birthday. Christena will be remembered for her giving heart, her love for her family, and the many ways she brought love and kindness into the lives of those around her. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Christena later made Louisiana her home in the mid-1990s. Before becoming a mother, she completed her education and worked in a physician’s office. Throughout her life, she enjoyed staying busy and expressing her creativity. She loved jet skiing, baking, painting, working on projects, and building things with her own hands. Whether she was creating something new or spending time with the people she loved, Christena found joy in the things that made life meaningful. Above all else, Christena loved being a mother to her boys. Her children were a special part of her heart, and being their mom was one of the most meaningful roles of her life. She also cherished being an aunt to her nieces and nephews, loving them in her own special way. Christena was a giving person who cared deeply for the people in her life. Her love, generosity, and the memories she created with her family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Family and Loved Ones Christena leaves behind her beloved husband, Manual Alimia; her sons, DaVon, Lee, Brayden, Jayden, and Jace Alimia; her father, Robert D. Curry Sr., Mother, Sandy; her brother, Robert D. Curry Jr., and sister-in-law, Amy; her sister, Carrie Curry Faber, and brother-in-law, Michael; her sister, Traci L. Wilson, and brother-in-law, Chris; her nieces, Madison C. Faber and Adilynn M. Wilson; and her nephews, Ty R. Curry, Conner J. Shirah, and Christopher P. Wilson. She also leaves behind many other family members and loved ones who will forever hold her memory close. Christena was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lucille A. Hensel (Richard); her sister, Stephanie Marie Curry; her father-in-law, Manual Alimia; and her mother-in-law, Carla Alimia. Though they are no longer here, the love and memories they shared remain a lasting part of her family’s story. A Life and Love Never Forgotten Though Christena’s passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the impact she made on her family will never be forgotten. Her life reminds us that love is found in giving, in showing up for the people who matter, and in the everyday moments that become treasured memories. Christena’s love for her family, her generous spirit, and her creativity will remain a part of her legacy. The things she built, the things she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will continue to live on through the people who knew and loved her. Services and Celebration of Life A Celebration of Life is being planned in Louisiana to honor Christena’s life, share cherished memories, and bring family and friends together to celebrate the love she gave so freely. Details for the Louisiana Celebration of Life will be announced as arrangements are finalized. A service will also be held in Michigan, where Christena will be taken back home to be laid to rest alongside her beloved mother and sister. Dates and details for the Michigan service will be announced at a later time. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering Christena, celebrating her life, and honoring the lasting love and memories she leaves behind. Though Christena may no longer be by our side, she will forever remain in our hearts. She will be missed more than words can express and loved beyond measure. Until we meet again, may you rest peacefully, surrounded by the love you gave so freely. You will never be forgotten.
