Chantal Bitoun Bergeron

Chantal Bitoun Bergeron, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the age of 61. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Archland “Archie” Bergeron Sr.; father, Jacques Bitoun; sisters, Joyce Brantley, Cindy Bitoun and Danielle Bitoun. She is devoted mother of Amber Harvey, Tara Bergeron (George), Tina Deidrich (Darren), Archland “Joey” Bergeron Jr. (Emily). She is grandmother of 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Chantel is daughter of Simone Aube. She is sister of Mimi Cheramie, Josette Laiche, Joelle Amedeo, Jacqueline Bitoun, Theresa Bitoun, Mike Bitoun and Patrick Aube; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Chantal was born in Lyon, France and lived in Avondale for many years. She was a longtime employee of the Jefferson Parish Public School System at Livaudais Middle School. She was the Vice President of Bridge City Fire Department Number 1 Support Group and Gumbo Festival Marketing Director and Chairman of the Coca Cola Booth for numerous years. She was the recipient of the prestigious St. Louis Award and also Woman of the year of the Bridge City Women’s Club. She was a devoted and active parishioner of Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Bridge City. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. The following day, Friday, April 21, 2017 everyone is invited to a brief visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM all from Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1701 Bridge City Avenue, Bridge City, LA. Internment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna.
