Cecilia Marchive Breland

Cecilia “CeeCee” Marchive Breland was born on November 28, 1939 and passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Clarence “Moose” Osborne Breland. Loving mother of Mark Breland (Charlene), Keith Breland (Mara), Claire Breland Stubbs (John), Clarence “Boo” Breland and the late Kevin Breland (Cindy). Grandmother of Kathryn, Andrew, William, Abigail, Alexandra, Kevin, Zachary, Danielle, and Colby. Great-grandmother of Elenora, Annelise, Beau, Eliza, Cecilia, Chase, Michael, and Parker. Step-grandmother of Amanda, Brennan, and Jade. Step-great-grandmother of Harvey. Daughter of the late Alphonse Marchive and Sterling Cappell Marchive. Sister of Martha Campbell, Sarah Bowman, Benjamin Marchive, Sterling Marchive, the late Marjorie Daigle and Alphonse Marchive Jr. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

CeeCee was born in Alexandria, LA, moved to Houma, LA in 1950 where she was raised and attended Vanderbilt High School. She moved to Jesuit Bend, LA in 1965 where she currently resided. She was a school bus driver for the Plaquemines Parish School Board for 35 years. An avid traveler, she could hear “Let’s Go” and she was ready. She was talented seamstress and was very crafty, and was an excellent home cook known for her signature shrimp stew. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, she will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.
