Catherine Herbert Palisi

Catherine Herbert Palisi, a lifelong resident of Algiers, Louisiana, passed away on March 4, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Vincent A. Palisi and beloved mother of the late Philip M. Palisi, daughter of the late Julia Twickler Herbert and Edward I. Herbert Sr., sister of the late Edward I. Herbert Jr., Christopher A. Herbert, Albert J. Herbert and Floris M. Herbert. Born July 4, 1919 and the eldest sibling of the family.
She was a retired employee of Louisiana Power and Light Company, active member of Holy Name of Mary Parish and past president of Buena Vista Garden Society.
She was awarded the Sr. Citizen Award from Holy Name of Mary Parish in 1987 and the Order of St. Louis Medallion for great dedication and years of service to the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 2004.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations in memory of Catherine H. Palisi to the Vincent A. Palisi Endowed Scholarship Fund in the College of Arts and Sciences c/o Loyola University, 7214 St. Charles Avenue, Campus Box 909, New Orleans, LA 70118.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Algiers, LA on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 10 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment St. Bartholomew Cemetery.
