Carolyn J. Valence

Carolyn J. Valence, age 71, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gary J. Valence; son, Grant Clark Jr.; daughter-in-law, Kathy Clark; step-daughters, Tara Ann Valence and Natalie Marie Nocito; granddaughter, Brittany W. Ladner (Justin); grandson, Dustin Clark; sisters, Patty Matherne, Barbara Schillace along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Clark Whitten, sister, Margaret Dewey and her parents, Agnes K. Grady and Ernest Mack Wilson.
Carolyn was born in Brewton, Alabama but moved to New Orleans as a child and lived on the Westbank of New Orleans with her family. She loved gardening, reading, writing poetry, traveling and her pets.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to an animal shelter of your choice.
