Carol Hebert Braun Moore

Carol Hebert Braun Moore, a lifelong educator and devoted matriarch, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, at the age of 84, just days before her 85th birthday. 

Born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Iona Perry and Dominic Hebert. She was a long-time resident of Marrero, Louisiana. Carol was preceded in death by her cherished husbands, John F. (Fritz) Braun and John K. (Kenton) Moore, D.D.S. 

She is survived by her three loving sons and their spouses: Perry David Braun (Nancy), Terry Lynn Braun (Ann), and Jerry Dominic Braun (Alyssa). She also leaves behind a legacy of beloved stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply. 

Carol dedicated her entire life to the field of education. She was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and Loyola University. She went on to shape generations of children in Jefferson Parish, serving first as a dedicated teacher and later as the respected principal of Homedale Elementary and C.T. Janet Elementary. 

Beyond her career, Carol embraced life with vibrancy and joy. In earlier years, she and her husband John were enthusiastic participants in the Crescent City Truck Parades on Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans. She was an active member of the Krewe of King Arthur, proudly reigning as Queen of the Krewe for King Arthur 1990. 

An avid traveler, Carol explored the United States and the world extensively alongside Fritz, Kenton, family and friends. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate Carol’s life on what would have been her 85th birthday, Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana 70058. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Memorial Park.
