Carl Deane Bissette passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 97, in the loving care of her family after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. A humble but commanding presence throughout her life, she proved to be so also in death. Carl maintained most of her independence and cognizance until the very end, a truth for which her family is grateful. Carl Deane is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Robert "Bob" Bissette, and her children, Charles Robert Bissette, Richard Wayne Bissette and Jimmie Lynn “Penny” Bissette. She is survived by her daughter Linda B. Vincent, son-in-law Cary, grandchildren Emily V. McElrath (Christopher), Andrew Vincent (Isabella), and her great grandchildren Jaimeson McElrath and Cael McElrath. A true country girl born May 13, 1928, Carl Deane lived out most of her life in Luling, Louisiana, where she had a long and memorable career as a nurse, a life calling that remained with her until the very end. She was always the caregiver to everyone she met. To this day, many of her closest friends were colleagues she met while working at the hospital in Luling, who still lovingly refer to her lovingly as “Mrs. B.” Her other passions were her family and her faith, both of which she cherished deeply. A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Luling, 921 Paul Maillard Road, Luling, Louisiana, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. The visitation will be held at the church from 11AM until 1PM, with the funeral service to follow beginning at 1PM. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Paul Maillard Road, Luling, Louisiana. Friends and family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Luling, her spiritual home for many years.
