Brent Joseph Foret

Brent Joseph Foret, born November 7, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on August 3, 2026. Brent was the beloved husband of Sondra Hill Foret for 30 years. He was a devoted father to Chad Foret (Mayerlin), Kelly Foret (Burke Stutes), Doug Foret (Brandi), and Jaclyn Caside (L.C.), and a treasured grandfather to Bryce Gras, Mason Dice, Emma Foret, Cole Foret, Syriana Caside, Sage Caside, and Jake Foret. He is also survived by his siblings: Leonard Foret Jr.( Gloria), Lyle Foret (Stacy), Wayne Foret (Theresa), Drew Foret (Laura), and Cindy Foret Papas (Clem). He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Foret Sr., and mother, Elaine Troxler Foret. Sondra and Brent shared many memories in their 30 year marriage traveling, going to concerts & simply spending time together.

Brent found his greatest joy in the moments spent surrounded by his children and grandchildren, whether it was sharing laughter, or simply enjoying their company.

Brent was a wonderful, loving, and generous husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He freely shared his knowledge and abilities, never hesitating to help anyone with anything. Brent personally built both a camp and a home for him and Sondra, as well as his sons. Many memories were made at “Paradise” aka Lake Hermitage. A true outdoorsman, he held a special passion for shrimping and bass fishing, pursuits that brought him peace and fulfillment. Brent also treasured time in the country at the home in Mississippi. His talents as a craftsman were known among family and friends; there was truly nothing Brent could not fix, build, or repair.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Harvey - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey, LA. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 AM. Brent will be laid to rest at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Terrytown, LA, with the burial proceeding at 12:00 PM.
