Blaine Anthony Delaune, born on October 24, 1959, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and lifetime resident of Jefferson Parish, earned his wings on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the age of 61.
He is the eldest son of the late Ramona Gail Danos Delaune and Walter Michael Delaune.
Blaine is the loving father of Misty Lynn Delaune Bowman (Brad), Brent Ashton Mataya, and Brooke Ashly Mince (Marco).
He is the devoted grandfather of Camryn Nicole, Kyle Bradley, Braden James, Alexa ‘Lexi’ Nicole, baby Mataya, and Asiyah Jahmon.
Blaine is the cherished brother of the late Brian Delaune, Bradford Delaune, Brandon Delaune, Bernadette Gural (Kyle), Belinda Oakland (William), and Beth Delaune. He is also the loving godfather of April Delaune and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Blaine was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and worked as a welder the majority of his life. He also held several professional licenses and certifications in machinery and heavy equipment. He was an avid Saints and LSU fan, took pleasure in being physically active, enjoyed reading, and had a passion for cooking, especially for others. He loved being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Blaine never shared a meal with a stranger, and he was a friend to everyone he knew.
