Barbara is survived by her loving children, Michael Hammer (Gwen), Dwayne Hammer, Sr. (Cheryl), and Joseph Hammer (Sondra). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dwayne Hammer, Jr. (Tiffany), Ashley Hammer (Andre Boudreau), and Christine Hammer (Raquel Munoz), as well as her greatgrandchildren, Jackson Coulon and Owen Hammer. Barbara also leaves behind her siblings, Harris Lester, Jr., and Mary Rost and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Hammer, her parents, Willie Anna Sears Lester, Peter Sears, Sr., and Harris Lester, Sr., and her siblings, Peter Sears, Jr., Ella McMahon, Adam Sears, Ann Lester, Delores LeBoeuf, Robert Lester, and Randy Lester.
