Barbara Mae Gaudet Dickens, 69, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Born in New Orleans, LA, Barbara’s life was defined by love, resilience, and a fierce devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmond Frank Dickens, and her cherished son, Jeffrey Alan Galmiche. She found great joy and purpose in being the guiding light for her granddaughter, Reagan Michelle Galmiche, whom she adored beyond words. Barbara also welcomed Oscar Esquivel into her heart and home as a “grandson” embracing him with the same boundless affection.
Barbara was the daughter of the late Guy J. Gaudet, Sr. and M. Mae Gaudet, and sister to Geralyn Pusateri (Steve), Gail Biondolillo (Vince), and Timothy Gaudet (Bonnie). She was also preceded in death by siblings, Elizabeth Gaudet and Guy J. Gaudet, Jr.
She extended her loving spirit to her extended family, including sister and brothers-in-law, Ronald Dickens (survived by Rose), Theodore Dickens (survived by Nancy), Dudley Dickens (survived by JoEllen), and Laura Ramsey (survived by Butch). Her life was enriched by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and devoted friends.
Known for her warmth and generosity, Barbara created a home that overflowed with laughter, support, and Sunday dinners seasoned with stories and soul. She was a passionate New Orleans Saints fan—her loyalty never wavered, and her spirit soared with every touchdown.
